Join us at Baltimore's newly revamped Lexington Market for a Holiday Market & Pitch Showcase on December 14th, 5-8:30pm. The most recent crop of Cureate Courses graduates are coming together to share stellar food & drinks and vie for a chance to bring home a $5,000 check! Plus, attendees will get to vote in real time for the winner of a separate community prize fund. Tickets are only $5 and include entry and a complimentary drink. Good times are guaranteed by our emcees, Instagram food-celebs, @CharmCityTable and @CousinKim_. Get your ticket today at: https://bit.ly/shoplocal2022.

Three representatives from University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) will serve as judges at the Pitch Showcase, helping determine the final destination of the two $5,000 checks. Part of Bradford Seamon's role as UMMS Vice President of Government and Public Affairs for Prince George’s County, is engaging with the small business community to help identify opportunities to build capacity and grow together. "I love small businesses and good food," says Seamon, "so an opportunity to help a food related business grow and serve more customers (like me) is exciting!" Dana Farrakhan, Senior Vice President, Strategy, Community and Business Development, will be judging with community health improvement in mind. “Serving the Baltimore County community as Community Outreach Manager at UM St. Joseph Medical Center, I’m aware of the large need for access to food,” says Erin Selby. “I love to support local businesses and as a Baltimore resident myself, I’m excited to learn about the small food/beverage businesses in and around my neighborhood.

Cureate Courses is a free 10-week food & beverage entrepreneurship education program. The twenty small businesses for Fall 2022 were selected by a committee of community partners, and are 60-70% woman-owned, 80-90% black-owned. The vision: to build a more resilient, local, diverse supplier network of food & beverage businesses throughout the state of Maryland, generating economic impact in every community. This innovative yearlong program is executed by Cureate, with the support of and in collaboration with Baltimore Community Lending, through a grant from the University of Maryland Medical System, funder of the program.
